malachite: has your muse ever done anything that they winded up feeling incredibly guilty for in the end?

Failing to protect the village and villagers. It’s part of his job and he feels responsible for it, so being unable to do that much really hurts! 

chartreuse: if you had to describe your muse with a color, what color would it be and why?

Hm, probably unsurprising, but I would have to say... a midnight blue. While this shade can seem unapproachable, cold and uncaring, it still exudes a sense of calm and trust. Blue also holds the meaning of loyalty and friendliness, while still communicating melancholy and qualities of timidity--- which I believe best describes him.

Minato was used to being out far later than others had deemed appropriate. He’d had extra hours in his life for as long as he could remember, in the height of darkness, had walked the streets when people became coffins and he heard terrible things whispering around street corners. Night, normal night, in the city was nothing to him.

And yet someone here was trying to warn him off. Adorable. As though parkour stunts qualified him to babysit.

“I already met you, so anything else I meet will be all up from here.” Minato held nothing back, even if he didn’t actually have anything against the other. Still, with that out in the open, he did feel like he should give him something to work with. When he continued, he still spoke with a wry tone, the same as his swiftly-delivered insult. “Thanks, but I can take care of myself.”

Justice: A decision they wish they could do over

Despite how his decisions pain him, Minato cannot say that he has regrets about his life, or about giving it up. He feels, of course, loneliness, bitterness, loss (always loss), but he wouldn’t change his decision if he had the chance. He knows he did what he had to do.

What he would change was how it all began. The time he wasted trying not to get too close to anyone, held back by the fear of watching them die before him. Dying for them instead was highly preferable, but he hadn’t thought back then that he’d care so much that their time had been limited.

It would have been nice to let himself love them all from the start.

The Tower: Something that changed their life

The Dark Hour defined Minato’s life for most of it. Like a lingering blanket of grief, an extra hour no one else lived that began the same day his parents died. It felt like a curse, a daily reminder that their deaths had changed the entire world even if he was the only one who felt it. It was impossible to grieve with that hour hanging over him. It was impossible to cope with death in a healthy way, to do anything but accept that it was his constant companion and feel fear like a physical constriction around his throat when it weaved too close to anyone else.

Anyone would be changed by being bound to Death himself. It’s not a surprise to know that is true of Minato, too.

Unlike most people who have disappeared into thin air and into this unusual realm, Ritsu was only mildly annoyed and disoriented. Panic? It would certainly do no good to act in any irrational manner in a desperate attempt to make sense of his environment. Tiredly rubbing his eyes, he makes a quick scan of his area. Obviously, he wasn’t in Yumenosaki anymore. Possible locations run through his mind, but it was clear as day he wasn't even in Japan anymore. Perhaps this is just a weird dream that he should try to wake up from soon. Yet he finds himself moving, natural curiosity driving his aim.

He hears a somewhat familiar voice, although it is not one he can place a name on. Something quick flies just above his shoulder, then back around to its presumed owner, and he can catch a faint glimpse of silvery hair in the distance and most importantly, what looks like the Yumenosaki uniform. Sure enough, he confirmed his suspicions as he approached his fellow schoolmate. In fact, he has seen him before; god forbid he knew him as a friend of Rei, but he distinctly remembers the unusual boy grabbing his hand and dragging him to the Venus Cup a while back. It’s enough to make him reconsider engaging with this person, but he knows he has to if he prioritizes his survival. “Hey,” he taps his shoulder, “Do you know where we might be?”

      ... Yep, she knew her magic senses were tingling! There’s another person here that’s as mystical as she is!

      Of course, Himiko doesn’t say anything at first. She just watches the other perform tricks flawlessly. Who was he trained under, she wonders? It’s a question that she’ll store away for the time being. For now, her interest is piqued, and she has to investigate and get to know this mysterious guy as soon as possible!

      “You can do magic too?” She has the decency to approach him after he’s done performing, because hey, she knows what the standard protocol is, even in smaller shows. “Are you... A mage?”

What does your muse have the most passion for?

Protecting those smaller/younger/weaker than he is! His entire ideal is centered on never letting kids starve or freeze on the streets. He grew up without a home and witnessed too many defenseless kids like himself suffer wile adults did nothing. The girl who raised him and took care of him ended up dying at the hands of a guard...and he knew he had to do something when he grew up. He needed power and influence and he’d be damned if he didn’t get it.
