Murdina has to admit that she’s been a little preoccupied by the entire fight for the cosmos thing and also by Sestia and Nikhil who are very distracting. That doesn’t mean that Murdina doesn’t care for anything else. Or anyone else, for that matter. She didn’t even realize that she did something wrong until Sestia made some meaningful eye-contact with her after Kyshaar left a stack of towels for them without looking at Murdina even once.
“D’you think she’s mad at me?”, Murdina asks Sestia who’s sitting on the couch with Nikhil’s head in her lap and a cup of tea in her hand. Her other hand is playing with Nikhil’s hair who makes sounds that suspiciously sound like a cat purring. It’s entirely adorable.
“Well, I would say that she usually smiles more. And talks more. So… yeah. I think she might be a little mad”, Sestia says.
“I didn’t even do anything!”, Murdina protests and stares at the stack of towels as if they can tell her what she’s done to upset Kyshaar. Sestia takes a sip of her tea and tilts her head. She looks as if she’s taking pity on Murdina—something that Murdina also doesn’t understand.
“I think that might be the problem”, Sestia offers. Murdina blinks.
I'm rewatching the battle for beyond finale and the Polodio rescue scene is just so fucking good. First there's the way the energy of the tables changes when the fish fight goes from funny to sincere with the absolute drama of Murdina nearly going down, and then the 10% HP for the called shot is such a good small moment of DMing, and then comes the moment where Murdina succeeds and Polodio. is in. the fucking. lure.
I know the inherent goofiness of Polodio means their conversation is still a little silly but Murdina's line about no more casualties does fuck me up. Just...what a good combination of comedy and character beats. Kyshaar and Murdina hugging with Polodio in between them would get me sappy even if none of the above had. Ough.
Alright, y'all, get ready for some verified spelling...
- Sarenda (the lilac skin tiefling from ep1)
- Olin Munn (goblin armor inspector)
- Sarahbell (elephant woman, AKA loxodon)
- Harpy Goldendale (dwarf commentator)
- Kyshaar (everyone's favorite half-orc porter)
- Malini (Nikhil's sister)
- Liora (Kyshaar's boss)
- Filendaar (fire genasi cook from ep4)
and most importantly in my opinion...
- Tovayu (Sestia's lost partner)
- also, Polakott (the setting)
