sometimes i feel like im being too whiny whenever i lament the lack of b4b art and experiences out there in the wild being enjoyed by the wider queer community, but i have to remind myself that i am not, in fact, being irrational. a long while ago i was talking to my aunt, who is a married stud lesbian in her mid 50s, and she told me casually that she thought of the word butch the same way she thought of the word dyke. there was something ugly or inauthentic about it. and a different stud i met at pride this year in her late 30s basically echoed that sentiment. the acceptance i feel about studs and butches and b4b relationships is ultimately the result of me interacting with a very insular community, one that in no way reflects the opinions of most people i will interact with. im probably gonna spend years interacting with other butches who consider dating a butch to be "too gay" for them which is. god when are we all gonna unpact THAT
