My favorite Gideon lore is that when he showed up on a new plane everyone mispronounced his name and he just rolled with it.
Context will not really help this one, sorry.
Featuring a slightly more terse than usual Kytheon (@mythandral)
Bonus:
just so we're all clear, the island sanctuary is just ariadne's family's dacha and the gap is invited uwu (bonus kyth @mythandral and minthe @tallbluelady)
Elspeth: So how are you two doing?
Chandra: Dead inside...the universe won't let me be with my girlfriend.
Elspeth: Mood. How about you?
Gideon's ghost: I am literally dead, how do you think I'm doing?
Elspeth: I've died too, it isn't that bad.
I'm not strong enough
Theros Beyond Death References pt. 5/?
I may be one of very few but I don't think Kytheon Iora is dead yet. I know it looks like it, and it may very well be true, but I find it hard to believe a set in ravnica, with known ties to heavy spirit activity, would have a planeswalker die and manage to go to the heaven of a different plane.
People have near death experiences and see the afterlife. They see their loved ones and are comforted during these times only to quickly be revived, it's vivid and it feels real but they are alive. We've seen Liliana using healing magic, or at least it is implied through the white aura, on the splash art for WAR and I fully believe that isn't just a color scheme error.
I think Liliana taps in to her healing magic to save Gideon. It explains him seeing his dead friends from a separate plane and explains Liliana's white magic in the splash art.
With lili's recent humbling on Dominaria and her reminder of who she once was through the death of the kids in the trailer I fully believe we see Lili save Gideon. But maybe I'm just hopeful.
