and while we're on the topic i really hate how much the female characters in this show were called a bitch. thomas calls 9 year old holly a bitch, henry calls 13 year old tina a bitch, even hopper calls kali a bitch!! the female characters in this are so underdeveloped but they love to throw that word around with so much malice
Without adding on to my last reblog which references ‘place’ Japan, I’d like to share with you the most ‘place’ I ever was when I lived there. If you’re driving back into shiga from Gifu and you just happen to be on mountain roads, mount ikeda will kind of just spit you out after a while into this massive bowl of nothing but rice paddies as far as the eye can see.
And after about ten minutes of driving through the west end of nothing, you reach the party house
I never stopped here, mostly because I just assumed if I went in I would come out ten realities to the left, and possibly fifty years later
For about a year now this news has been officially [redacted], but now it's free. My debut YA novel, BORDERLINE, was acquired by Union Square Kids, an imprint of Hatchette Book Group, and is scheduled to hit shelves next summer 2027. Also they mentioned my blog in the official announcement, as you can see, which is hilarious. Anyway.
I'm really excited to have a book out in the world soon! BORDERLINE was actually kind of built by the blog, considering my beta readers were all followers who volunteered. (Beta readers: expect a separate email). So many people have been so kind about my work here, my future work, and this whole process, so THANK YOU, first and foremost.
If you've liked what I do here, it would mean the world to me to have your continued support! Tell your online friends, tell your real life friends, tell your library, etc etc! My instagram will shortly be transforming into an author page, so if the mood strikes you, please give me a follow @lilia.vc ! This alone would be an enormous, enormous help.
Finally, if you have any questions please send them my way! Thanks again, keep writing, and as always, stay weird.
Overall, L seems detached on the surface, not cold, but constantly lost in his own thoughts, very often brooding. When you're around him, it can sometimes feel like he’s not really here, but in another universe. His gaze drifts off to the side, his fingers fidget with the hem of his long sleeve, yet his answers are always too precise and rapid. However, in a relationship, he is more likely to show physical affection when alone with his partner; with them, you can finally feel that he is here, not somewhere else.
In a relationship, he won't be the type of person you can constantly talk to about his feelings and emotions. But if you tell him that you’re feeling anxious or down, he will start to analyze and reason through your emotions and worries. In reality, he isn’t used to offering comfort with standard words instead, he will begin to break down your feelings in detail, explaining why you might be feeling bad and how to solve the problem, almost as if he is trying to "decode" your state of mind.
If he feels completely comfortable with his partner, he will begin to open up more and more, starting to share his own worries and feelings, and allowing his physical affection to show.
At one point, he might just walk into your room, sit next to you on the bed, and talk about his state of mind while tracing your fingers with his hand, touching your hair or neck with just the light graze of his fingertips, and then simply fall asleep on your shoulder if he is exhausted.
Physical intimacy will definitely be present in your relationship, but it manifests only when there is solid trust. At first, he will drop subtle hints, like casually brushing his fingers against your thigh, holding your hand a bit longer and tighter than usual, or sitting down closer to you, almost pressed against your side. Over time, he will grow slightly more confident and start taking the first steps, though still remaining gentle and quiet. He is neither pushy nor impulsive, yet a single touch from him can send a soft shiver through your body.
