return to normal ☼ em & mary【afternoon】
As far as Mary was concerned, there was only one real downside to Scotland and that was the preference it had for cold weather. Autumn in this country passed too quickly for the young witch's liking, moving from the warmth of the summer to the dreariness of winter with too deliberate a speed. She wished for the days of jumpers and scarves and orange leaves to last the whole year, the crinkling of her shoes over the cluttered pathways was the soundtrack she cherished most.
Because of this, it was a safe bet that if it were September or October, one could find Mary MacDonald spending any and all free time out of doors. As soon as classes let out, she took her books to the tress by the lake or the courtyards to do her studying, preferring the cool breeze to the crowded common room air. A clearly handmade scarf wrapped around her neck and her clock fastened securely over her uniform, this afternoon was no different. The crisp air hit her with a welcome shock as she left the castle for the grounds after her final class of the day.
She made her way for the courtyards, planning to settle herself in a corner where she could enjoy the day as she worked on her assignments, the stone benches providing a makeshift desk and the view of the lake providing ample inspiration. As she approached her favorite spot, she made out a familiar figure already seated there. Emmeline Vance. A grin crossed her lips at the welcome discovery and she crept up quietly behind the Ravenclaw. "Guess who," she asked, slipping her hands quickly and quietly over the other girl's eyes.
