I’ve been super with exams lately (hence the lack of activity) but my bodyline order finally arrived.
I’ve been after some non-brand pieces for daily wear so when I saw this dress on their website and I just had to get it! It’s even more gorgeous in real life and it’s actually really well made <3
Here’s a link to it for anyone interested:

My only complaints are that the lace isn’t the best quality (tbh kinda expected with bodyline) and the arms are a tad tight, but other than that I can’t complain too much when it was only £13.
Definitely recommend it and I’m hoping to get the ivory colourway in the future `
Tried on my other new Bodyline dress that my husband got for me now that I've slimmed down a bit more post baby. Feels great to move around again without a giant belly. Phew! Definitely not a Lolita coordinate just yet but I thought it looked cute anyway with just my shoes and my mirror necklace. I have too many pink sweet Lolita accessories that don't match this dress 😖. Time to build up!🌹❤️🌿 #classiclolita #notreally #roses #j-fashion #bodyline #l585 #op #bows #peach
Loretta - a summer-friendly classic coord with Bodyline’s floral OP! I think lace gloves would have been the perfect touch, but it’s difficult to find good quality gloves locally; plus it looks kind of silly when everyone else is all but melting in the heat.
OP - Bodyline l585
underskirt - Little Dipper
wig - Bodyline w049
mini hat - Foxcherry
OTKs and bag - offbrand
shoes - Mel
lace fan - apostrophe
Thoughts on l585, below the cut.
I don’t have a lot of OPs from Bodyline, just three so far- but the sizing seems fairly accurate. The main fabric is a heavy textured polyester, side zip, grosgrain ribbon and detachable waist ties. It is a little baggy on me around the underbust and waist area, as with BL’s size M in general. Corset lacing would ensure a better fit, but this fabric is so heavy it might be hard to add a shirring/lacing panel. The gold lace is a bit rough, but then that’s a given for gold lace. It’s not ugly looking, and suits the colors of the dress.
Downsides -
The collar fall doesn’t lie perfectly flat. It’s not an ironing issue. It might be that the pattern is off or the fabric wasn’t cut correctly and so won’t fall properly. The sleeves are also very poofy; some people may not like that bit. They’re not at all constrictive when wearing the dress however, so you can move freely!
For the price I paid (BL sale) it’s a very good buy. OPs aren’t the most versatile pieces, but in the heat of summer, wearing just one or two layers is a godsend.
