WE CANNOT GIVE TACO WHAT HE WANTS

As we all know, TACO has long had a bad case of premature despotism. He has been eager to become a king from the beginning.
His weekend decision to send in the National Guard to “establish law and order” by putting down the “threat” of a few dozen unarmed protestors here in Los Angeles is as pathetic as it is repugnant. The executive order he issued Saturday night, granting his incompetent Secretary of Defense - a man longing to do whatever Dear Leader tells him to do - the power to “employ any other members of the regular Armed Forces as necessary to augment and support the protection of Federal functions and property in any number determined appropriate in his discretion” has revealed not just a basic contempt for the constitutionally-guaranteed fundamental freedom of Americans, but also how desperately overeager he is to prove he could be a strongman like the thugs he has always admired.
This is the opportunity for the internally-broken worthless piece of shit who has spent his life with his nose pressed against the glass door he knows his betters will never open for him, to show them who’s boss after all. He lives for revenge, and he considers everyone who has ever snickered at his pathetic attempts to be a Big Strong Boy to be his personal enemies. Accomplishing this will be the ultimate revenge. His widdle mushwoom must be half hard and vibrating at the thought of carrying out what he has wanted to do ever since he was caught at age 10 throwing rocks at the toddler in a playpen next door.
And we cannot allow that to happen.
What he wants is for protestors to be seen causing a confrontation with the cops who have to protect the ICE goons, whether those officers like it or not (Both the LAPD and LASD made it clear this weekend that they are on-scene to maintain order, not to carry out the ICE Goons’ assaults). HE WANTS FOOTAGE of people walking around taking selfies in gas clouds, waving Mexican flags, blocking traffic, and - hopefully - burning cars. There are, unfortunately, a lot of people who don’t know any better who believe such actions are heroic. No, they’re not. All they are doing if they so engage is providing TACO and Stephen Miller and Tom Homan and Pete Hegseth the excuse they are looking for to enact their desire to declare war on us.
I’ve been in three LAPD cop riots. I was there for Stop The Draft Week in Oakland. The only thing those violent events accomplished was giving the authorities the “proof” they needed to convince The Silent Majority that we were indeed “bad people” and that we “needed to be stopped.”
The truth is that John Lewis accomplished more social progress getting his skull cracked open at the Edmund Pettus Bridge by Southern cops in public and it being shown on national TV than any of the violent attempts to “confront the pigs” in all the demonstrations that followed back in the day.
We don’t want the people who join the National Guard - who aren’t from places like Los Angeles - getting radicalized by the experience of confronting protesters overturning police cars and damaging property, ofgthemselves being assaulted, to take back to their communities where it becomes the final proof that TACO is right.
What we want is for them to participate in The Deployment Nobody Paid Attention To. What if the result is that TACO threw a crackdown and no heads got cracked?
TACO is desperate to distract the country from his record of failure-after-failure since he ended up back in what he’s turned into Whitey’s House. Right now, the majority of Americans see him as the incompetent moron he’s been all his life. The number of people who see that is increasing every day. A majority sees his immigration policies as the evil they are. A majority is opposed to his attempts to whitewash the history of America. A majority opposes his idiot tariffs and will blame him for the coming recession. A majority support the federal courts as they stop his insane bullshit.
We want more of that.
I am not advocating that we sit back and “take it.” Nonviolent resistance has nothing to do with surrender. It is the one tactic that works in exposing shitheads for the shitheads they are. It is what leads to the overthrow of dictators and the defeat of wannabe authoritarians.
If they try over this week to suppress the coming No Kings Day demonstrations set for next Saturday, if they claim the planned events must be canceled because of the threat of violence, we have to show up regardless. We have to stand in Civic Center Park here in Los Angeles, and the civic centers everywhere else, and by our presence - without giving them any pretext to attack us - we have to make our presence a public rebuke of them and everything they stand for.
We have to be John Lewis, not some moron in a Balaclava running through the streets.
We, all of us descendants of immigrants who came here for the same reasons as the immigrants being persecuted today, have to stand up for all the reasons our ancestors came here and sacrificed as they did to create what we have.
Doing this will deny TACO everything he wants. Doing this will defeat him. Sending in the National Guard was meant to provoke, not pacify; it is the proof of his weakness.
We have to carry the sign my partner in good trouble carried last Friday: “No Sign Is Big Enough To List All the Reasons I’m Here.”
