Headcannon time ...
Imagine Huckleberry Hound and Clementine having a weekend to themselves at Santa Fe's storied La Fonda resort hotel, just to take stock of themselves for no obvious reason....
(In case you ask why it's not "the La Fonda," as New Mexicans are fond of so referring: It's about the subtleties of Spanish, in particular when it comes to conjunctives and possessive articles. In Spanish, the article "the" can be represented, depending on context, with terms like "la," "las" or "los;" ergo, to speak of "the La Fonda" is to resort to redundancy. And BTW, "La Fonda" means "the inn.")
