Dedicating the next few days to the music and memory of Afronaut like @afrikanspaceprogram . These shots taken together around 2010 before his gig fresh off his first release on @brainfeederrecords “Brother from Another Planet” with artwork by @theojemison and @charlesmunka ,a hip hop kid and with a love for the power of soundsystem and dubbed out #bass , this album blew my mind and got me digging hard after hearing about tapes and previous releases on @poobahrecords a #recordstore of the same name where he worked for over a decade. . . . Link in Bio: Happy to share another live vid! This one of "Evidence" which is probably my favorite Monk melody. So quarky and jagged! When I was recording the album I toyed around with a few sounds to play the melody on and ended up with this Talk Box sound. To me it encapsulates the sarcasm and fun of Thelonious Monk.
