The chicklets, my mom and I joined the Hendry County Democratic Women’s Club, Hendry County Recycling and Keep Hendry County Beautiful for International Coastal Cleanup today. Our little town is situated on either side of the Caloosahatchee River which flows west/southwest to the Gulf of Mexico. In just over an hour, our team had cleared seven bags of garbage including bottles, fishing gear, and various construction materials from a dry bed that diverts storm runoff to the river. We filled another two bags with trash and discarded toys and clothes from the grassy areas along the riverbanks. There was a large turnout and participants nearly filled a construction size dumpster with rubbish. Community service and activism are good for the soul. And the planet!! 🌏 🌊 ☀️ 🐠 🐬 🐊 😎 ♻️ 🗑 #labellefl #labelleflorida #portlabelleflorida #portlabelle #coastalcleanup #summer2019 #community #coastalcleanupday #recycle #coastalcleanup2019 #coastalcleanupday2019 #unschoolinglife #unschooling #getoutside #activekids #activefamily #dogoodthings #dogoodfeelgood #riverlife #floridagirls #floridalife #beinvolved (at Port La Belle, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2r0J-vhUrt/?igshid=1npmh9qg9bk66
