LAB SWAG - WEEK 3
SWAGGIN' MA HOOHAS OFF!
Learned serial dilution, and perfected it with minutes until leaving time today. FTIR! Beatrice joined me (I shall link to her blog later, it's a BELTER. so much so, the biochemical society officially put her on their page! YISS!) as she has been making proteins but so far they've been a bit cheeky and decided not to stay in solution, and so, they precipitate. AWNAW. I've been making adduct, ADDICTED TO MAKING ADDUCT. Wee filters agogo! I have come to the conclusion, however, that I require a lab coat that doesn't feel like I'm wearing the cloak of Thor, AM ONLY SMALL! Anyhow, today was a success, Bea is picking up everything RAPID and I'm pleased with that! YAHOO!
LAB SWAG - WEEK 2
I'm doing a physics summer project! :D It involves anti Tuberculosis drugs, and improving them. Doesn't sound physicsy, but it is, I PROMISE. I use an infra red laser to look at the spectra the drug makes :D
Decided I'mma update you all on my lab goings on in, er, the lab :) I've been left alone (ooft) in a big laser lab, with many dangerous things and free reign of the tea and biscuit cabinet. I've discovered I am a tank at measuring out chemicals to the exact gram. YISS. I'll post pictures of all the stuff I get to use when I return home, but for the moment I am away to mix chemicals and cause havoc.
