i love how flawed and passive she is. i love her contrast and similarity to yona. i love how shortsighted and selfish she is and how caring and how empathetic while still being immobilized by her fears and her status. she loves her son and her niece and her monster of a husband and her in laws and she knows and closes her eyes and just tries to believe. endless blood was shed in her name and she knows it and didn’t want it but accepts it. she puts her son in danger trying to save him from himself. she tried but she still parentified him. despite all her prayers she cursed him. in almost every way she failed. but she loved him. and he loved her too. and that love mattered, in the end. and years after everything in her life fell apart and she died with endless regrets, her very last wish came true. she’s in so few chapters but so well characterized and so central to the emotional heart of the story. most underrated akayona character!!!
