Ladanki are small Slavic charm bags that were worn on the belt, around the neck (or for us modern folk in a pocket or purse). They contain written spells, herbs, stones, amulets & talismans. I only sew them once a year on New Years Eve so each batch is gone when they are sold out. Shown here are the remaining 2021-2022 ones I made. Few are left and when they are gone they are gone. Tomorrow I will begin sewing them once again. I am not so great at this but making my own ladanki... A Polish medicine bag creation embroidering specific symbols on it. I remember something similar to these in the Polish Catholic Church my Gram took us to. Of course they had Saints on them but still have a vague memory of seeing these. We'll see how I do... Tree of Life and Spirals so far in specific colors.
