[l&ds journal tips] | @/thechaoticarchivist's [post] got me thinking about miscellaneous layering tricks used to create custom journal "elements" so i made breakdowns of my frequently used ones :p (i yap more in the "read more" about nuances and stuff.)

Other miscellaneous things I've done under the cut:

Use glint to take close-ups of outfit fabric textures to use as backgrounds/borders/filler elements in journal pages

Zooming in on "stuff" includes snapshots, photos, in-game screenshots, meow badges, plushies, companion pngs...

Screenshots (taken via the in-game screenshot camera button) can be used for photos in journals. Useful for getting photos in memory cards or event stories etc.

Take screenshot of a memory card while there is no character/LI on screen and only text. This will screenshot without the UI elements and get a clear photo of the background, which can then be used in journal border items.

For any outfit you don't own, you can take screenshots of the event story while the LI is wearing the limited outfit. These can be used in journals later too.

Don't like the page color? Cover it in tape, stickers, color over it entirely!

Layering the same text with different colors and offset by a few pixels works for STAMPS too.

Gamble in chocolate shop for more stickers. You never know which stickers might have a tiny corner of detail to use for custom layered elements!
