Was playing with designs a bit ago and this lovely lady spawned in my sketchbook! She's a dwarf barbarian that's slowly turning into a fire genasi. When her hair breaks or gets cut, it flash-cools into obsidian shards. When she rages, her scars glow like purple lava. Fresh out of a rage, she's literally too hot to touch.

I'm naming her Helena! As she gains fame, she'll eventually gain the title Obsidian Flame. Her battleaxe has enchanted obsidian mirrors within it that can tell the future.

Imagine this. Medusa is cursed by Aphrodite for being far more beautiful than her. Now whenever Medusa looks at someone, they turn to stone and she can’t even gouge her eyes out because she’s to damn durable.

Trust me, she tried.

She was thankfully granted the ability to reverse the stone statues back to people with the help of an earth spirit, but more often than not turning someone back is worse.

Many soldiers chase after Medusa to use her eyes as weapons or to simply take head as a trophy.

But, out of all the hunters and warriors that have hunted Medusa relentlessly for 2 years, one stood out. A single female warrior. At first, she was planning on killing Medusa. She watched Medusa from afar, observing the monster to find a weakness.

She eventually learned that Medusa was not evil, despite being a monster. She always dusted the statues of her enemies, while also moving animals away from the statues. Transforming them into stone to revert them as she carries the creatures away.

The warrior then decided to approach Medusa, with no weapon. Upon closer inspection, the warrior realized that Medusa was the most beautiful creature she had ever seen. She of course turned to stone but made sure to write a letter in her hand saying she meant no harm.

Medusa turned her back and saw that the warrior was not an enemy. Later, the two became great friends as she asked Medusa why she had been caring for the statues of her enemies. Wouldn’t it be better to destroy them?

Medusa said that she had thought about it at times, but she couldn’t bring her self to destroy the statues. She wished to free them, but even then that would be a worse decision. Plus, Medusa appreciated her conversations with the warrior.

From then on, the warriors trained herself, having Medusa turn her to stone and back to human. Hopefully making herself immune and allowing the two to look into each others eyes for a prologues period of time.

Thankfully, after training for 1 week, it takes 0.25 seconds longer for the warriors to turn to stone. Progress is progressing!
