Gaster stares after you, barely able to contain himself. The candy obediently floats up from the floor, encased in a red shield that will not permit it to fall through. He bursts out laughing once he realizes what you’ve done.
stars help me for the fact that the first fanart i finally did for the fantastic @ladyanatares is not of a cool battle, or tense interaction, or some hilarious hijinks with multiple members of one of the ‘verses characters - no, no, i got the lil scene of this tall nerd’s laughing stuck in my head.
... okay but really, to me, that means all the more about her writing - because damn if even the little moments don’t hit me just as much as the big ones. it makes sense for a big scene to stick with you, naturally - but when even the smallest interactions continue to stay true to the characters and develop them just that little bit further, and make you fall even more in love with them-? that is some phenomenal storytelling.
this is from the latest chapter of The Gaster Timeline, part of her amazing Not Your Doll series that seriously go treat yourself to the full read of them all if you haven’t already.
