1. I think that Loki is one who feels quite strongly about emotions and sometimes can't hide them well when it comes to those he loves. He feels passionately about the few he will allow to get close to him. 

2. For Loki his fear stems from his love, one of his biggest fears is rejection and it's from this that his trust issues have sprung and have carried forth into his relationships. 

3. Loki is not adverse to salt, though it's not something he really   seeks out to use much.
