So I need someone to write a fic like this and your writing is amazing! But an au where nhl players are all kinda poly and having sex with a teammate after a win is normal. Orgys happen in the locker room all the time. And if the team chooses to they can have a player from the opposing team to do whatever they want with. But okay old school teams do that really. For the mash-up: Any pairing, Historical, summer camp

Historical at this point includes the 1990s, right? So neon colors and fanny packs and kids wearing sun visors non-ironically, and while I’ve never been to a summer camp, I have been one of those unfortunate 8-year-olds who had to hike through the Rocky Mountains foothills because this was before the internet and everything remotely fun and it was the only way to keep kids from whapping each other with those little plastic braid things they had made earlier in the morning.Now imagine-- Carter Hutton and Colton Parayko are in charge of making sure these kids don’t stray off the trails. Colton will require at least 5 gallons of sunblock because altitude is a bitch and gets called a nerd for worrying about things like water and How to Interact with the Wild Safely. Carter is the ‘‘‘‘‘cool’‘‘‘ guide who tells kids that if they stick their hands out the shuttle’s windows their hands will fly off and makes this believable. Both of them split a 12-pack of Coors Lights and a dirty mag after the kids get popped back into school buses and swear to never do a off-season like this ever again but skis are expensive and they gotta feel the powderrrrr as soon as October hits

More jobs are being automated, things that don't seem possible. Computers grade essays in standardized testing. Long-distance truck drivers will be replaced by self-driving (that's 1.8 MILLION people right there). Computers are faster and more accurate than just-graduated law students at sifting and reviewing documents. Robots can flip burgers and take orders. even if they only take half the fast food jobs that's another 1.8 mil. What "new" industry could possibly employ that many people?

Solar energy. Other clean energy tech. Information technology. Engineering. Scientific research. Trades.

seconding the small-goals November. NaNo is just too much on a bad month. I usually try to tackle an abandoned project or start something that I could finish in 10k or so.

Tackling abandoned projects also seems like a really good idea--among other things, if you wrap n’ polish them in November-December, it frees you up for a new slate of stories in the new year!

Thanks for the good poop vibes, guys! It was a Christmas miracle tonight when he took his 4th poop of the day on the toilet instead of his pants. All because he wanted to go in the big boy pool. We'll see if it lasts. He's being particularly difficult because he's almost 4, stubborn as hell, and is really good at not caring about stuff - toys, naughty wall, treats. No pants doesn't faze him, and he's impossible to catch because he can hold it like a champion. But he was seduced by the blow up pool! Unfortunately this is the only preschool in our new neighborhood that'll bus his older bro to kindergarten, so it's either this or I'm screwed :/ May the poop gods smile down blessings upon us all. I hold out hope that tomorrow he will use the potty again.

Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day: LadyJanelly

This is the second annual Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day event as celebrated by members of Renegade Publishing, although the event has been going on for much longer.

As such, I bound a pair of fics by the lovely @ladyjanelly, in a style new to me: dos-a-dos binding. The pair of fics are "Sink These Roots Deep," a Hockey RPF alternate universe fic, and "Blight," an AU of that AU.

This volume was bound in Duo Linden bookcloth and paired with homemade marbled paper by yours truly. Titles are adhesive silver vinyl.

Each book was typeset separately in InDesign. Body text is in Alegreya Serif and Sans Serif, and titles are in Cinzel Decorative.

A dos-a-dos binding is a back-to-back pair of books that share a common back cover board, and it was a challenge that I really hope I met.

This was a very fun challenge, and it was so much fun to bind another book for a friend.

Thank you for the reminder--I do! Someone else on Nextdoor (yeah, I use it for local emergencies) recommended that as well if there were certain warning signs, like a burning oil smell or warning lights came on. I’m keeping my AAA handy today in case hubris catches up to me.
