It is during one of the nights they are drinking comfortably together and Lucia was nowhere near drunk enough to even contemplate what she was going to do. Perhaps it was best to just get the action out of the way, move on like it was a joke, rile Giovanni up and move on, continuing being friends. Because somehow they always managed.
Only one beer in and the thought had come across her.
"Mind if I have a taste?" She did have a habit of stealing sips from her friend's own reserves from time to time, but only when he had a glass out already. So the question would not be out of the ordinary. And when he would intend to give her some out of annoyance or just because it was easier, did she decide to steal something else.
A brush of lips. A taste of spiced breath from the alcohol they both consumed.
And she held it there, probably longer than she should have.
And it probably should have been just that and it would be over and she could go back to just sitting beside him like nothing happened.
However something did happen and she was instantly on her feet and leaving before she could see his reaction.
the sheer amount of alcohol it would take to make giovanni even slightly tipsy would be enough to send most others halfway into permanent liver damage. after decades of careful micro-dosing of the contents of the mahogany cabinet in his office, it's more of a form of entertainment than something to get intoxicated from. and it had turned out to be a common part of their small get-togethers.
he'd always felt a certain spite towards that cabinet, anyway - it was one of the few things salvaged from his old home. some of the bottles it contained were older than his earliest memories. not that many of them were worth returning to, even with the power of alcohol.
" are you asking permission? "
his gaze is turned, just in time for the ghosting touch of lips to happen, brief but enough to create an unusual mix of the two drinks they were downing. a subtle raise of brows, the look resting on his features shifts to curiosity - but before he can ask, she has already left the room. / @ladylvck
