It took great amounts of effort to control her voice from the lack of air. Was that normal? Dear God, was this how normal girls reacted to things like this? Probably not--- they were probably used to being touched by attractive guys.

It takes Sam five years to take over Hell. He knows because he counts down every year, month, day, hour and minute Dean has been in Hell. Each second a painful reminder of his failure to save his brother. It becomes Sam's personal Hell, but he knows deep down that whatever the demons are doing to Dean is much worse and he keeps on fighting. Ruby comes to him first, always loyal and standing by his side. Others come later. Followers of Azazel and those who simply didnlt like Lilith's way.
The process is slow at first. The demons don't think that Sam can take down the First. Once the word gets out about Sam's gifts more start pouring in. By the second year, Sam has his army. It takes two more years to break through Hell's defenses and force Lilith's forces to retreat. It takes Sam an extra year to hunt Lilith down.
It isn't until he has Lilith blood cooling in his hands that Sam takes his throne. He find Dean's contract among the millions and rips it and finally breaths out in relief. Next he sends the order out. His brother has to be found and brought to him. Sam is getting Dean out of hell--even if he has to stay behind.
