Soft prompt idea: I was taking a nap the other day and end up having a nightmare about my little sister going missing (She's 21 but in my heart she's still 5 😂) So I was thinking the reader having the same dream about Lambert, and when they finally wake up they start looking for him around the keep all teary eye to give him a hug ❤ (Yes, I totally did this. Didn't even care my sister was stydying, I need a hug dammit)

A/N: This took way too long to do, babe I'm sorry!!

Warnings: nothing but fluff

You jolted awake, heart beating against your chest. 

“Lambert?” You reached out for him, searching the bed for your witcher. 

The sheets next to you were cold and empty. You rubbed your eyes to clear the sleep from them, then took a better look at Lambert’s side of the bed. 

It was neatly made with not even so much as a wrinkle in the blanket. That was worrying. Lambert was anything but neat. 

“Lambert?” You tried his name again, slipping out of bed. 

Your bare feet were cold against the wooden floor. The fire must’ve been out. You shivered, rubbing your arms to try to create some sort of warmth. 

In the main room of your home, you searched for Lambert. He wasn’t at the kitchen table, which was where he could be found some nights when he was too restless to lay in bed with you. 

Your eyes flickered over to the door and your heart sunk. 

His swords and armor weren’t where they usually rested by the door. 

You took a few steps closer to the front door, hoping that maybe you just couldn’t see them from where you stood. 

But they were gone. They weren’t there. 

Where was Lambert? Why had he left? 

“Lambert!” 

Firm hands held your shoulders, beckoning you awake. 

Your eyes were wide as you stared up at the witcher leaning over you. He looked confused and concerned, his brows furrowed together. 

“Are you–,”

Before he could even finish his sentence, you threw your arms around his neck, pulling him down on top of you. You didn’t care that he was nearly crushing you with his weight. He was there. He wasn’t gone. 

Once he was able to get his arm free, Lambert propped himself up beside your head enough so that he wouldn’t squish you. 

“What happened?” He kissed your head.

You breathed out, your breath tickling his bare chest. 

“You were gone.”

Your answer made Lambert’s stomach churn. 

He shifted to lay next to you, propping himself up on one elbow so he could use his other hand to brush over your hair.

“Well…. I’m right here, so don’t worry about it. It was just a stupid dream.”

You nodded, still sniffling. 

He could see the tears leaving trails down your cheeks and see the way the nightmare still tormented your thoughts. 

“I’m not going anywhere without telling you and letting you know, got it?”

“Got it.” 

“Good.” He kissed your forehead firmly. “Try to get some sleep, bug.”

Watching The Witcher, and now I'm tempted to write for Lambert... I've done Lambert x Jaskier before, but maybe reader inserts for him too now?? Not sure if people would be interested...
