Gueuzerie Tiquin's Gueuze on Draft
For one of the newest blenders in the industry, Pierre Tilquin is doing a lovely job with his gueuzes. Another plus is that it is probably one of the most accessible draft versions of the style for us. The draft version is a blend of 1 and 2 year lambic, so it isn't quite technically a gueuze. (They are blends of 1,2 and 3 yr.) But it certainly makes for a great side by side opportunity with the Tilquin bottle, which happens to be a true gueuze.
The aroma is very grassy, herbaceous, with hints of a leafy green salad. There is a hint of sweetness, like honey and limes. The mouthfeel is prickly and has a bitter linger. The taste reminds me of a bitter green salad with a citrus vinaigrette.
