Had such fun this afternoon with my #gelliplate. I'm no longer able to do the intricate designs I used to because of the sad state of my dodgy thumb & fingers so I had to look for a different way to express myself. Thought printing might be fun .... and it IS! Spent a few hours making the backgrounds for birthday cards I plan to give to family & friends. I've left most of my art materials on Ios, so I'll finish them off when I get back there. Spent a lovely afternoon learning how to monoprint off a #gelliplate - it was such fun! I think these turned out ok for a first effort - I wanted some background prints for cards or pictures & these are roughly what I wanted. Well of course I went for a #studyinblues. I felt Uli was looking on while I was doing this & smiling - pleased I was doing something creative again. This is my finished pic of Uli. A friend of ours, Kate had taken this photo at Matt & Jess's surprise wedding celebrations at Harmony. Dress code was white - an easy option for #ttwd, but I had to buy something new. I probably wouldn't have made this pic if Molly hadn't asked me to. Billy & her want to hang it in Lord Byron above his favourite table. I'm so chuffed & honoured that they asked me to create this - I'd wanted to make something to commemorate Uli, but I didn't know where to start - the subject matter was too vast heheheh! The minute they asked me, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I see him here looking on at life & people's antics and being amused ... enjoying being there to be part of it all. In the background I've written some words that remind me of him. Blue was his favourite colour - when I first met him he'd painted his little finger nail dark blue - the colour of his car. As I was working on this project good #memories filled my mind - there were a few tears too, but mainly a feeling of contentment & gratitude.
