This is a prototype Classic Pens ZJ1 Mozaique limited edition pen in sterling silver from 2007. The series had a total of 50 pens, 25 sterling silver, 15 vermeil and 10 in 18K gold. It has a two-tone 18 karat gold nib. The engraving was done by hand on a 1927 engraving machine by the Murelli company in France, making each pen a little different from the others. An unusual feature is the engraving continues to the cap top and the section. In Greece, many people develop a special relationship with our “ancient stones”, the marble finds unearthed in abundance by archaeological digs, as omnipresent relics of a distant past. The relationship is invested with personal elements by each one engaged, but it seems to exert an unvarying soothing effect for most. In my case, the bond was forged quite out of necessity.

A throwback photo from 2008. This is a set of LB2 Kimono prototypes with the artwork on Classic Pens Legend pens, done in the Togidashi Maki-E technique, which is a combination of two painted designs that run the length of the cap, barrel and section in a continuous flow. The base colors are applied in wide bands that softly transition from one color to the next down the length of the pen. A fine gold dust is then sprinkled over the cap and barrel, which gives the finish its sheen. Finally, the artist paints the raised concentric rings of alternating silver and gold. Every pen carries the Red Seal Signature of the artist, Tatsuya Todo, near the base of the barrel. This is a Classic Pens CP8 Murelli in the Flamme (Flames) guilloche with rose gold plate on sterling silver vermeil and with rose gold plated trim and nib, a prototype photographed in 2010. This 5 25/32 inch long pen was manufactured in Italy by Aquila Brands and engraved in Domont, France by the Murelli company and then plated with rose gold. This is the Lambrou Pens LB8 Virtues Celestial prototype in Space Blue acrylic made between 2004 and 2007.  It's a 6 inch long cartridge / converter fountain pen made of diffusion bonded acrylic produced by Carville in England, exclusive to Lambrou Pens.  The pen is made by Paul Rossi and his initials can be seen just below the barrel trim ring.  The sterling silver clip art depicts a celestial scene of four stars and a crescent moon.  The nib is a two-tone rhodium plated 18 karat gold Bock G-370.
