Rajasaurus narmadensis

Late Cretaceous Period (~67mya), India An abelisaurid theropod dinosaur found in the Lameta Formation. My image here might be a bit of a speculative departure from the dinosaur's typical environment, but one can imagine an individual may have wandered into uplands that fed the river systems in which fossils were eventually preserved. Hey! I did today’s illustration for @a-dinosaur-a-day! This is Coeluroides largus, a barely-known theropod from the Lameta formation. We think it’s probably some kind of ceratosaur, probably a Noasaurid, but all we have is some scattered vertebrae, so this reconstruction is based mostly on Masiakasaurus. 

Also pictured is Sanjeh, a big-ish snake that lived alongside Coeluroides, and a hot newcomer on the scene, grass!
