Dragonfly Color Sans ref sheet

finally something i can post about my comic yayyy!!!

Color's not the main character (more like the 3rd main character) but he's the one with the clearest design in my head, so easiest to draw

1st image:

rainbow color palette: (will probably change)

zoom single wing: (50% normal <- 50% white) + 66% screen wings partially transparent (just fiddle with layer types until it looks right)

lower wing: (10% normal + 66% screen) 80%

2nd image:

can summon rainbow fire

1st aid kid in satchel bandages, scissors, painkillers… in case his wounds act up

eye & flame color tends to reflect the human soul most influencing him at any given time

kindness & patience makes his eye look like nightmare's

dragonfly color sans (again!)

i wasn't relly satisfied with the previous one cuz it looked too much like color with wings slapped on, so i changed it a bit

ramblings under the cut

true story: i originally wanted him to have headphones to mimic the big eyes dragonflies have but i couldn't really make it work, and i thought that didn't really fit the og character design so i gave it up, then i found this post talking about it and tried it again and it actually looks good??? so now he has headphones

also got the bag from this color redesign by @sandeewithtwoe, he did have a smaller one originally but having it placed parallel to his scar looked weird (plus it was kinda small for the amount of stuff he would carry), so now it's bigger & crossing his scar

the small color in the bottom right is me seeing how much time it takes me to draw him, since i want to draw him in a comic i need him to be easy and fun to draw and i think he passes the test (thats also why i made the flames & wings a single color, also so it would look less cluttered)

if anyone who reads my fic “like a moth to a flame” sees this post, this is just me gushing about y’all

i’m like wanting to cry as i message my girlfriend about how happy i am at how well received this fic is. the fact that i’m getting comments and kudos and even bookmarks just gets me so giddy and really fuels me!!! i’m so genuinely happy that people are liking this story and liking my interpretation of these characters and i honestly read the comments over and over on a near daily basis. so i want to thank you all for the support you’ve given me and the time you take to put into commenting or liking or reading my story. every second counts to me and i’m never going to be able to explain just how happy it makes me feel! i can’t wait to start chapter 4 and keep this story that i love so dearly going!!!!!!!!!!

honestly spider dream & nightmare were the easiest ones to place

i kinda wanted to keep it all lamtaf (the bug utmv), but i didn't have enough characters so all utmv, but i got stuck at the middle row and thought the Tower of the Gods trio would fit well in here so here we are

honestly Lea is a bit of a stretch, "I have no idea how I got here, even less where I am going" does fit, but she's more a victim of circumstance (like the others in the trio) and it's not (entirely) her fault.

Circ though fits literally every single column. one day this man centipede is going to kill someone.

I think Spider Dream could go into the "I'm making it everyone else's problem" column. He tries very hard not to make it other people's problem (and fails spectacularly).

finally, an actual love triangle

the triangle thing can be seen as platonic or romantic (personally i think whatever they've got going on transcends typical relationship but that might just be me)

I got tagged by CorruptedNekoArt so i'm gonna ramble about my boy for a bit. (kinda feels weird calling him an oc since he's just a bug version of color sans but eh whatever)

(also this got me doodling him and uh let's just say i had fun with the colors)

Game rules:

1. He keeps small trinkets, one for each of his friends. He makes sure these are strange or esoteric objects, that he would never think of on his own, as a way to make sure they aren't fragments of his imagination. He updates them every so often.

2. Too much noise or too many people can make him easily overwhelmed. Ironically, he hates silence and empty spaces. He wears noise-cancelling headphones for that purpose, but always has music or a podcast on so he never hears complete silence.

3. He absolutely hates being alone.

4. The human souls are a constant presence in his life. He hears their thoughts and opinions as voices in his head, and they influence his every action. Sometimes they force him to do specific things or prevent him from doing what he wants.

5. He's a very social guy and loves hanging out with others. He wants to learn everything about everyone and discover all the cool places in the multiverse.

6. His wings are extremely fragile and tear easily. If they were to break, Color's natural healing powers would fix them in mere hours, though that wouldn't make it any less painful. When overwhelmed or panicked, he tends to have intrusive thoughts about ripping them apart. He has never once acted on them, yet they still weigh heavy on his mind.

7. He sometimes takes off his headphones to hear the sound of the waves, the wind in the trees, or the chirp of the birds.

8. His way of fixing problems is mostly waiting for them to go away. Although he wishes to be, he's not reliable or helpful when it comes to fighting the dangers of the multiverse.

9 (because why not : P). He technically has a residence in and full access to the omega timeline, even if he doesn't spend a lot of time there.
