one thing that really really really confuses me is that morrigan is not written as a member of the upper class , like. AT ALL. we see upper class characters, (mildmay and lamya are both pointed out to have posh accents), but morrigan uses slang and has such a subtle/no accent that mildmay thinks she's a native to the free state. it's probably because of her curse, but surely she'd have some sort of indicator of her upper class upbringing

she's the daughter of the chancellor, and seems to be born into generational wealth. the crow family is VERY clearly rich. great wolfrace is the most powerful state in the winterea republic, but lamya is somehow posher then her? is corvus not as powerful as we thought? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???
