This beautifully detailed gown, designed by Walter Plunkett, was created for the 1956 film 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒆, where it was worn by Lana Turner as Diane de Poitiers. The film was a big project for MGM, and publicity photos show there was a great emphasis on the costumes in the film, staging its star amongst Plunkett’s creations. In 1966, it appeared in an episode of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒏 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑼.𝑵.𝑪.𝑳.𝑬. called 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓, where it was worn by Valora Noland as Grand Duchess Vicky.
