Sentimental (5 of 9 Lanweek)
Jaune sat down quietly on a bench, holding in his hands the tattered red fabric that's always tied around his waist. Not only a nice addition to his look from when he first started at Beacon, but also a painful reminder of someone he lost while attending there. While Jaune focused on those painful memories, he felt someone gain his attention from behind. Turning over he saw Ruby, his leader friend and best friend since Beacon, looking at him with a worried look.
Seeing him on the verge of crying while holding that specific red fabric were the only hints Ruby needed, choosing to sit down next to him. She reached over to grab his hand, with him letting her grasp it tightly as he felt tears begin to fall from his eyes. Once that happened, Jaune wrapped and arm around Ruby as she hugged him fully, letting him cry softly onto her shoulder while she rubbed his back.
It's been a decent amount of time since the fall of their academy, and the phantom pains of those they lost still echo. But, they still keep pushing further and further, together.
