or

something huge gonna happen, AND BOOM FROM WHITE TO BLACK his whole 'sharpshooter~loverboy~lance' image of himself is gone - bc the situation gave him no choice

or

all of this is actually a call for help / a hug / just love (platonic, romantic, family- doesn't matter) and he doesn't even know it himself, because he is caught so deep in his own ego
