i could Bad End Theater &j.. (sorry it will be less lesbian than the original BET, but if it helps you can make William a woman. it's easy)

so NATURALLY Comedy and Tragedy are Anne and Will, i mean in the show she LITERALLY turns his tragedy into a comedy!!!!

i would say the Hero is Romeo, it feels fitting for both their characters

the Maiden is May, of course, shes literally purple so obviously May is them. and also, May wants to find love! the Maiden goes and gets kidnapped just to find love!!!!

now, if we're going off of romance, this would make Frankie the Overlord. but i dont think thats right! really, neither Juliet nor Frankie would fit the Ovelord, BUT Juliet would fit more AND the Overlord IS pink

and once again, although it's not the MOST fitting, Frankie is the Underling. theyre blue. hes blue. theyre like the same guy really (also the Underling has their coward ending)

NOW, you might be thinking, where are Lance and Angelique?

well, they could EASILY be Comedy and Tragedy. they were forced apart!!!!

then theres also the fact that she used to work for him, BUT, theres no romance between the Overlord and the Underling. but we've already established we're not going off of canon romance and things can be shifted

how would these changes impact the story, you ask? well, heres what i'm thinking:

with the Mayden/Coisling change, here are some of the endings i'm thinking:

Francois holds out his hand to you. You look at him, then at the burning building -- Juliet, who you had just been getting along with so well, and Romeo, the hero that was meant to save you, are still inside the castle.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Take his hand [romantic]

Run to the castle [heroic 💀]

CHOICE: TAKE HIS HAND

You take his hand, and the two of you run off together to live a life far away from your village or from his castle.

You never look back.

[ROMANTIC MAYDEN END A]

CHOICE: RUN TO THE CASTLE

You run from Francois, but you're too late. You hesitated for too long, and you payed the price. You think you might leave and go back to Francois, but you quickly decide to just stay and burn.

You wonder what could have happened if you had taken his hand.

[ATTEMPTED HERO MAYDEN END]

You hold your hand out to May with a smile, but they respond with a blank face. Did you do something wrong? Still, your smile doesn't fade. They look at the castle, and then back at you. They take your hand.

You never look back.

[ROMANTIC MAYDEN END B]

You hold your hand out to May with a smile, but they respond with a blank face. Did you do something wrong? Still your smile doesn't fade. They look at the castle, and then back at you. They ultimately run to the burning building.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Cry

Follow them [desperate]

CHOICE: CRY

You do the only thing that makes sense to do. You sit down, and you cry. You don't think you'll ever find love again. Your time together was short, but magical.

You run to the woods and never return.

CHOICE: FOLLOW THEM

You run into the burning castle, trying to find May again, but it's no use. The smoke is too thick and the flames are too hot. You laugh as you collapse to the ground. Everyone else burned in here, so why shouldn't you?

You close your eyes for the last time.

[DESPERATE COISLING END]

now, for the Angeling/Overlance change:

You look at your overlord. You never wanted to kill him. You knew him better than any of the other underlings, you had spent time with him, gotten to know him. You loved him.

Still, knowing this doesn't stop you from digging your claws deeper into his chest.

You were a survivor, and if you hadn't done this, your friends surely would have killed you.

You leave the room with Lance's blood on your hands. Your friends applaud and congratulate you. It feels... bitter, but you remind yourself that it was either him or you. You're appointed as the new overlord. Every so often you see an underling who reminds you of him, or worse, you. You made the mistake of getting close to one of them, one day. That ended with you killing her, the same way you had killed Lance.

You fear you will never escape your past.

[OVERLORD ANGELING END]

You can't do it. You can't kill him. You knew you wouldn't be able to, but you still agreed to.

You try to leave the room, but the other underlings lock you in and set the castle on fire.

Lance wakes up. You don't tell him you nearly killed him. The two of you die together.

[LOVING ANGELING END A]

and what about Heromeo/Overliet?

You laugh with the hero. He's surprisingly charming, and you have a lot in common. He smiles at you, and something in you drives you to kiss him. For a few seconds, you're happy.

Until a maiden comes in with one of your underlings. They frantically tell you that they overheard your underlings talking about overthrowing you and that you have to leave immediately. You look at the underling next to them (Frankie, was it?) with anger in your eyes, but he shakes his head to say that he wasn't involved.

You try to leave your room with the hero, but your underlings shut the door. It doesn't take you long to realise it's been set on fire.

You see Frankie and the maiden huddle together. You would consider it cute, if you weren't about to burn to death. Still, you decide to do the same with Romeo.

You all burn together.

[OVERLIET TRUE END]

oh, that's strange! the true end is the same as in the original Bad End Theater, it seems... well, i suppose that's what makes it true, isnt it? no matter who they are or what they do or who they love, they have to burn... it's sad, isn't it? but there's nothing we can do... they all burn together.

they make each other feel young. theyre not young, but together they get to experience love in ways that make them feel like silly teenagers with a dream of love. being with each other makes them feel like theyre living the dream of romance that a teen might have. they make each other feel like they can be that for each other.

every february, hes her valentine, a silly holiday thats such a big deal to people, especially teenagers in their first relationship, and when hes with her he feels like theyll be young forever, no matter how old they get. the song isnt about being teenagers, it's about being in love and feeling young because of it.

they love each other, they cant sleep, theyre living their teenage dreams that they never got, they make each other feel like they are a teenage dream, like theyre perfect, like it's okay

no regrets. no looking back. nothing, because they love each other and always have and always will

his heart stops when she looks at him, when she touches him he believes that it will work out, and as much as she wants to break free, she cant because the fact is that she loves him and she cant resist it.

they'll be young forever so long as theyre together, they will grow old together and they are in love. theyre living a teenage dream with each other and the fact is that because theyre in their 50s or so, the song is just more beautiful
