Listening to music in my native language: the fuck is he even talking about
I know it's been awhile, so much shit has happened in my personal life but enough of that!!!
Sorry for the long post below.
I WAS ABLE TO USE ONE OF THE LANGUAGES I HAVE BEEN LEARNING!!!!!
(it was American Sign Language)
So as I was assisting a customer and their son, I realized their son communicated through ASL. I couldn't get the parents attention as they were doing something else. So I asked the son if they "need help" AND THE WAY I DID IT SO SMOOTHLY (I did do a minor hiccup in signing 'help' but still?!?!?!)
I love these moments where my shyness just disappears and I'm able to reach out how I always dreamed of. I saw how past me would've did it and was like "nah that ain't good enough, let me do something of my passion"
I was so happy I called my mom after helping and communicating. Also the son was smiling as I thanked him properly and communicated more. I don't think the mom saw it because of other things before he could have potentially warmed up.
Sorry for the long post again, it's just so many things going on.

Spanish Study Goals for Today - January 6, 2026
My goals today are very light as I am fighting off what is either a severe cold or that influenza A that is going around right now. Regardless, I feel awful, but I want to begin my studying with something. Something is always better than nothing.
🇲🇽 Spanish Study Goals - Jan 6th:
Busuu, 10min minimum 💻
Listen to one spanish podcast episode 🎵
Listen to spanish music while completing chores for the day 🎸
That is all I think I'll be able to manage today, but I'll do an updated post tonight to see what I accomplished and write out my goals for tomorrow.
til later, lovelies 🩷
2026.01.02.
Happy New Year everyone! I decided to write down my language learning goals for the year.
I forgot to add English to it, though. The goal for that one is to achieve the highest proficiency I can, cuz I might study in English next year and it would be great if I knew what is going on in a lecture. (I know I still make a bunch of mistakes, but I wanna fix that this year). The others are pretty self explanatory, I just want to be more organized with them, than I was last year. Nothing crazy
Today:
📔 Math, Italian

🎧 Tiger, Tiger - Fran Palermo
20/1/25 - I'm trying to write one French journal entry a week as one of my 2025 new years goals. I wrote quite a long one today!
This is a figurative expression (idiom, excuse).
When a person is tired of doing something, he says "я не могу". then the interlocutor can say consonant "через немогу" - it means "though you can't do anything, but you must. try your best."
Wanikani: >60
Apps/anki/alphabet drill: x - -
Paired down what Languages I really wanna focus on. In order of priority:
) Japanese
) Mongol
) Hungarian
) Korean
Also I need to overhaul my Anki decks
Will they ever fix this on mobile
No
Never
With what staff?
I have heard of people using a language journal a few times now. And that it's very beneficial.
Does one of you use a language journal? How does it work? What do you write in it?
