Folks who use US English, or adjacent Englishes either as 1st language or otherwise learnt, say online: What is a frown, or how would you describe it? (Put nationality in tags if you like)
Downturning of the mouth, to indicate displeasure, consternation, inverse smile
Wrinking or furrowing of the brows to indicate displeasure, concentration, etc
Something else (describe in tags)
The official White House accounts are now referring to Donald Trump as "The King" after a Truth Social post regarding Matthattan's Congestion Pricing Laws.
So this is his play. He wants a title. He wants to be King.
But this is the United States. Our Founding Fathers chose not to become a Kingdom. They even offered it to George Washington once he was elected, but he TURNED THEM DOWN.
This is not a legal thing, yet. He is calling himself a king. To get the public used to the possibility. It's language use, be aware of this, and the ways language is manipulated for propaganda.
Anybody got some advice on how to be sex-positive without erasing asexual identities?

Mandalorians refer to the love interest as:
CYAR’IKA
Not “cyare”.
Longtime Mando’ade will know immediately when a fanfic or blog writer refuses to use Mando’a properly with this one word.
It had always been that way.
“Cyare” is used when describing a love interest to a friend.
But the “pet name” or nickname used by only a Mandalorian is CYAR’IKA.
Only a Mandalorian romantically close and intimate uses this pet name.
Look, you can say whatever you want to say, and call me names, but I see nascent fans of The Mandalorian and Mandalorians in generally complain a lot when longtime fans say something mean because new fans do not understanding why one word is used or pronounced versus another, why certain ideas are used versus another, and Legend versus canon concepts for Mandalorians versus another.
Most longtime Mandalorian fans are more than happy to educate nascent fans about the culture only if nascent fans aren’t ori’buyce kih’kovid.
If nascent fans want to avoid this Mandalorian headache and risk fighting as to who is haat vs who is not, take my recommendation seriously.

Hey, just wanted to tell y'all that comp het is a term a lot of TERFs use. Heteronormativity and cisheteronormativity are alternatives for it
“compulsory heterosexuality” is a theoretical term that is used in academic feminism. It is awful that TERFs are trying to co-opt academic language, but theoretical language doesn’t change just like that because a hate group is trying to claim it. Just “heteronormativity” or just “cisheteronormativity” aren’t the same theoretical construct and they can’t be used interchangably, although coercive heteronormativity is an alternative term and we do tag comp het posts with that too (or at least I do, I don’t fully know what the other mods tag) and I try to mention it in those to.
The thing with TERFs is that they are, at their core, transphobes that try to hide their transphobia behind real academic feminism, and if we stopped using all the construct they’re trying to co-opt, we would end up without any words to use at all, and they would sit on a mountain of theoretical concepts, and that would just lend them more power. If we refuse this co-opt and keep using the term, they cannot claim it, but if we give in, it will be theirs.

Do you know what really bothers me?
People that don't know the word ENVIOUS.
Most of the time they use the word "jealous", even if it can be so ambiguous. Basically "jealous" has two meanings:
1. You own something and somebody wants to take it away from you and that makes you jealous of said thing.
2. You want something that belongs to someone else and that makes you ENVIOUS. See, most people here would use the word "jealous" but why should we, since there is a word way clearer?
So please, use the word "ENVIOUS" to make this a fairer, nicer world.
