Just finished making and installing a November full moon altar at @pesulafiskars for their local artists November show. November is Marraskuu in Finnish which means Death Month. So obviously.... I love it. This altar offers a poem on handmade paper I made, which ends in a question for answers as offerings to be placed in the handmade Coptic journal beside it. I made the ceramic covers, experimenting with embedding tree bark in the cover. There's a Polaroid of my current muse, a dead tree in my village, in today's twilight full moon taken by @sannimaria The objects were all found on walks in the forest here, and include a partial bird's wing with feathers attached, part of a wasp's nest, a slag stone from when ironworks still operated in the village, a small bird bone, and two iridescent blue beetles. This work is supported by the time I have to experiment and practice because of a @taikegram Corona emergency arts grant. #poetry #installation #bookart #handmadepaper #ceramics #bookartist #boricuaartist #taike #goth #marraskuu #taide #languagearts #textbasedart (at Cafe Bar Pesula Fiskars) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWd3J1eICLw/?utm_medium=tumblr
