The garden was by far the prettiest part of today's trip. Too bad these photos don't do it justice.

Chiang Mai - Day 2 - Road Trip
We got up before the sun this morning. We were off to Chiang Rai. First stop though is a 7-eleven! This is the second time we have stopped at one, and it's the only time we get American food.
We took a pit stop after about an hour. There was a large open market located with a got spring in the middle of it. These older ladies were selling eggs to boil in the spring, and there were statues for you to cast your blessings and well wishes. Just before leaving, we soaked our feet in the hot water. Even now, my feet feel great!
Our first destination was the white temple of Queen Mother. It was created by two artists, and it's still under construction. Inside the temple, you'll are tributes to recent events such as 911, Angry Birds, Star Wars, Super Man, Batman, Spiderman, etc.
The last part of the temple was actually am art museum. There, Chay bought a book of art including most of the sculptures we saw today.
The second stop was at the Queen Mother's garden and villa in the north. We say down for lunch and sampled some more Thai cuisine. I had stir fried pork and rice. Next we walked to the garden. I wish we has more time to look at everything. The whole garden is really beautiful. We then made our way to the inspirational museum. We learned a lot about the king and his family.
Then we piled back into the van and hauled ass back to Chiang Mai.
