I love how Oda’s biggest strength and weakness in One Piece is characterization. Like one day he'll be like:

Eiichiro Oda: "Let's make a character that is complex but doesn't cry constantly. A character that's plays well with the others but isn't annoying. A character that gets into fights with someone but will always be there for them. A character that is carefree but will stand for values.         The oldest member of the Don Quixote Pirates, Lao G. is an officer of the Diamante Army. Despite his old age, he has a natural talent for martial arts and spotting out Gs in sentences. He also developed an ability that lets him store away his youthful strength for later, which basically means he gets to go Super Saiyan once.
