My questions for the people I tag:
Ugh, what a hard question. I can completely lose myself in nature. Especially the National Parks in the US have made such a big impression on me. But then again I'm also a real city girl at heart. I love how vibrant and thriving big cities are and I still miss living in Vancouver everyday. The bustle of people heading to work, buses, traffic, shops... But I guess if I have to choose, I'd choose the countryside.
Where in the world do you most want to live? Have you ever been there?
I would loooooove to move back to Vancouver. I lived there for 5 months in 2011 (wow, I guess that's 2 years ago now) and loved every minute of it. Such an amazing city, absolutely spectacular views of the mountains and the oceans. It blew my mind.
I swear I'm not a hopeless romantic, but I love waking up in the middle of the night next to a loved one (boyfriend) and just hearing him breathe peacefully. That's pretty awesome.
Bodywash, for sure. Soap bars are one of my pet peeves, yikes.
Favorite beverage (alcoholic or otherwise)?
We have this thing called jenever in Belgium. It's pretty heavy stuff (I think it's about 35% alcohol) and you can compare it to schnapps because it comes in all kinds of flavors. But the apple jenever is actually the best thing on earth, especially if it's ice cold.
My friends used to (and some still do) call me Mien (from the last part of my name, Yasmine) and my English speaking friends often call me Yas. But not really anything spectacular, I'm afraid!
Any New Years’ resolutions?
My resolution is to travel the world, meet new people, visit the people I love and haven't seen in ages, and not let anything hold me back. And I guess the usual stuff like being more healthy yadda yadda. :)
What did you want to be when you grew up when you were a kid?
As far as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a writer. I used to write tons of stories and I still have boxes full of notebooks that I used to write in. But my major flaw is that I never really manage to finish any long stories.
What is your comfort food of choice?
I can scoff down a pack of pepper & salt chips like there's no tomorrow.
Love love love love! I'm absolutely in love with flying, airports, and anything that has to do with traveling. Flying makes me feel like I'm on top of things and like I'm doing something good with my life.
What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
In August and September I'm going to Australia to visit a ton of my good friends from exchange in Vancouver. 90% of my exchange friends are all Aussies and so I haven't seen any of them since I left Vancouver but I'm extremely excited to see and hug all of them again. Especially because I'm flying there with my wonderful American girl and the both of us will once again be reunited with our amazing friend Laura and our holy trinity shall be whole once again :)
