The 'archeologist' title is always a nice touch, but Cynthia hasn't been able to get her hands dirty for weeks now. A champion's life cycles between endless conferences, press interviews, and business travel--rife with flashbulbs, autographs, and practiced smiles.
Cynthia is exhausted, but presses on for Sinnoh's sake. She longs for her hobbies, or perhaps even a chance to relax for just a moment, to indulge in a good book or some genuine conversation...
She's sure that Geeta understands this feeling. (It gets lonely at the top.)
"Working me too hard? Nah, works' been fine on good ol' Rika." She immediately dismisses with a half smile and a wave of her hand.
It's not like Rika could explain it to Geeta. Rika went on her own personal time, behind the League's back about her problem. Just tough it through those cracked, maybe broken ribs you have from a few nights ago.
"Just some personal stuff that's kinda colliding with work, y'know how it is. 'Sides I haven't taken a vacation in awhile and I need to set an example for Larry."
All truths, vague technical ones. Rika never wanted anyone to worry, she was never specific. She didn't have to be now. If people worried then people would pry. If people pried, someone was going to figure it out.
Telling Nemona was... well the likelihood of her mentioning it in passing to the other kids was...
Yeah Rika could handle that just fine.
"It was kinda unexpected but no worries. I'll get it handled. Your schedule for when I'm gone should be all good anyways and thankfully it's League off-season so there shouldn't be any interviews."

☠🌏– The Ground type trainer stared at her computer screen in silence, with it only being interrupted by the tapping sounds of her gloved fingers on the keyboard and her ocassional turns to scribble something on the slim stack of documents beside her. Thankfully this wouldn't take too long and he'd have a few hours to herself after this.

She stopped in her tracks and looked around the empty office. That sound was... eerily familiar.
Just as quick as she had thought that, she felt her bangs moving a little like a Pokémon hiding in a bush. And, wouldn't you know it...

''Oh. Hey there lil' guy.'' She sighed and a gentle hand went to pet the crystal Pokémon. Though its presence here meant that either her boss was around or absent. Why else would it seek to nestle itself on her own hair of all things? She paused her work to stand up and go looking for the chairwoman in the direction of her office.
''Hey boss, one of your lil' babies got stranded'', she laughed, letting the Pokémon hide in her bangs for the time being.
