Do you know who Larissa Tassi is?
In 1995, in the wake of the huge success Saint Seiya was achieving in Brazil, Larissa, who was 11 years old at the time, among with William, was chosen to be the singer of an album called "Os Cavaleiros do Zodíaco". The album featured original songs in portuguese based on the story of Saint Seiya, and the title song was chosen to be the opening song for the anime in the country, replacing Pegasus Fantasy.
The album went on to become a commercial success, being certified gold and selling over 750k copies in Brazil. Larissa & William performed the song in several TV shows (often with dancers cosplaying Pegasus Seiya and Eagle Marin on a budget) and helped boost the anime's popularity. Nowadays the album gained cult status. Also, in 1996, the album gained a version in spanish, to appeal to other latin american countries, but with different singers.
Eleven years later, in 2006, Larissa was chosen to be the singer of the brazilian version of Chikyuugi, the opening song for the Hades Chapter: Sanctuary, as well as the version for the ending songs, Kimi To Onaji Aozora and My Dear. And in 2013, Larissa is the one performing the opening song Pegasus Fantasy for Saint Seiya: Omega that was just released yesterday.
