I think more than anything your blog illustrates how larries were only ever invested in the versions of louis and harry they created and not who they are as people, so as they’re no longer serve your narrative you’ve disposed of them and are focusing on literal fictional versions of them through fic instead. They’ll be fine because they’re rich white men, but speaks to at large on how queerness is treated and fetishized on the internet.

Ooooor we're queer people who discovered a queer couple who fought for their right to be queer and together? Who were deeply in love and made us believe love was not only for straight people? We admired, championed and looked up to them as role models, trailblazers, as leaders, as queer representation, and as someone who could help normalise queerness and queer relationships as the massive superstars they were? We saw someone who fought to be themselves, banged on the closet door, who respected and admired other queer icons, who used their platform for good, to help educate and normalise gender non-conformity and break queer stereotypes?

And then as the years went on, we saw their fight dwindle? We saw them willingly participate in their own closeting efforts? We saw the love they have for each other, the love we fell in love with, become more and more hidden and kept from us? We saw less and less of the representation we crave and want as queer people? We see no efforts to help normalise queer people, queer relationship and queer music?

What we do see is attack on queer fans, policing of fans into obedience and silence, gaslighting and silence during genocide and alignment with zion*ism. We see someone who prioritises fame, money and newspaper headlines over morals, their own identity and their relationship with their fans.

It's no wonder us larries are put off, ceasing our support, unstanning and looking elsewhere for representation and speaking up against H and L's current actions. We refuse to compromise OUR morals and beliefs in order to continue to support someone who disrespect us and platforms horrible people with horrible and hostile views. It's one thing being closeted, and quite another to turn against your own people, we who gave them their fame and platform, and to work against queer progression and normalisation. It's not something we should tolerate.

Any Larrie foolish enough to share their real name is doxxing themselves. What did they expect to happen? Online, never ever ever give away your surname, address or place of work. Or even your first name if it's unusual. Not even in dms or group chats.

Are you seriously victim-blaming here? You don’t think anyone should be able to have social media accounts with their full name on it and NOT be doxxed by people who don't share their opinions? Do we not live in a democracy and a rule based society?

I do agree that everyone of course should take precautions on the internet, and having your personal information out there will make you more vulnerable to impersonation, misuse and doxxing, but still, calling out victims like this isn't it. Spend your time calling out harries and solo louies who are the ones doing this instead. Let's not pretend this is a situation where both parties are equally bad. This is harries, solo louis and antis going after larries. It's been over a decade of this.

Also, it's not like any larrie is giving away their surname, address or place of work to people they don't trust. The doxxing in this fandom is either due to break of trust, stalking or hacking. Some of these larries goes to school, work or are from the same town/city as antis, and that makes larries personal data available to antis.

You can lock down everything and take as much precautions as you can, if harries or solo louies really wants to target you and weaponise your personal information, they'll find a way.

So please, do NOT laugh at people who trust others to respect and protect their privacy. That's common decency. Call out those who make this world a scarier, and more mistrustful place because they can't handle that some people believe Harry and Louis are in a relationship.

Sometimes I think they don't let the larrie part of the fandom die because they know they need us. Louis needs us in terms of numbers and engagement, and H for when he needs support.

I agree with you, but lately they've treated us larries in a way that made half the fandom think they want to get rid of us. Their behaviour has been appaling and they haven't catered to us. Louis has been acting like we're a nuisance and made some decisions that drives his fans away in droves.

I do believe that they both need and want us around, but that requires effort from them in order to make it worth it for us larries. They are sending so many mixed messages, stunting without care, sicing antis on us and inciting fan wars and making us have to deal with them platforming zi*nists and conservative racists. A lot of people have had enough. Throwing us a bone every five years to string us along for a few more years is cruel.

Things need to change, and they need to change now.

Let's not be deliberately obtuse and let’s use our context clues here.

Louis underscore was on twitter only a couple of weeks ago and tweeted up a storm.

Louis underscore is primarily a tool to police, gaslight, and guilt trip in order to control the fandom and make it do his bidding.

Louis knowing that there are a lot of fans who are disappointed in him due to this stunt and his behaviour, especially larries, and who are expressing this explicitly on social media.

Reading something that he didn’t like isn't representative for the vast majority of his fans, and it doesn’t warrant posting this for everyone to see, making everyone feel guilty and responsible for the state of fandom. Especially, when he's the reason for it all himself. It's irresponsible of him not to explain himself if he's not referring to his own fandom.

Louis not knowing, after years of experience, that this will legitimise solos and antis, and sic them on larries, and create an even more toxic environment.

Louis underscore is what made this fandom toxic and fractioned in the first place. Tweeting this is as hypocritical as it gets.

And finally, this is something that he's done before. It's not the first time.

So let's not dismiss this or try to explain it away. Let's see it for what it is. This is his brand account, run by social media managers. It's not his personal diary. Hasn't been that since early 2012.

I guess when those who tuly see Louis, and his relationship with Harry, no longer poses a threat to Harry or Louis' career. That's when the validation of the solos and antis will stop.

The hatered that us larries face is enormous. The vitrol we face, how they attempt to invalidate us, the death threats and the doxxing we have to deal with is unacceptable. I will never forgive the one's doing it or the one's encuraging it and the one's in power to stop it who choose to sit by and watch it happen.

I'm a larrie and will always be a larrie. I will always carry a torch for Harry and Louis. I'm still a part of the larry/1D fandom and the community, i'm just actively disengaging from the parts of it i don't care for anymore. My interest in them has waned, and that's partly due to lack of quality content to engage with, lack of progress and betterment of their situation and image, and my hyperfixation shifting to HR.

I have no interest in keeping up with or talking about their stunts, bg, their families or their fake artist personas. It's been talked to death. We all agree, it sucks balls. I also have no interest in being gaslighted, lied to or disrespected as a fan. I also find little joy in cornplating old larry stuff anymore. It's been close to ten years of it, since it's been that long since we got some real larry content. If there were larry developments or new larry content engage in, you bet i would engage in it and be excited as fuck.

I'm still interested in and support their fight for freedom from their contracts, talking about their sexuality/relationship, their impact on fandom and the public reaction to their images, their strategical (or non-strategical) career choices, and for Louis, his music.

I'm guessing people still send me asks about Louis and Harry because they're interested in my opinion on the matter. I'm one of the last fandom veterans on tumblr who still answer asks. If people send me asks about Louis and Harry i still answer. I usually let my anons steer the topic of conversation. I let my anons vent or ask critical or controversial questions. My blog has always been this way, and it will continue to be.

I'm curating my fandom experience, which i very much encourage everyone to do. Joining the HR fandom has made me remember how fandom can be fun again. How exciting it is to get new content, to have new topics to discuss and seeing your idols prosper and be loved. I laugh most days and have become more active again. I also love that a lot of my fellow larries and fandom friends are engaging in HR content.

Fandom is supposed to be fun, and i've found a way to have fun again. So i'm spending my energy on what i find fun, stimulating, exciting and interesting!

I'm thinking a lot about this policy of increasingly frequent denials, using the Larries as scapegoats to get headlines and articles. And I wonder why Larry expose us to this pillory with such periodicity that it has now become a real persecution. They can't or don't want to come out. It's clear now. Therefore, coding has become useless. We can't fight a war on their behalf if they don't want to. Coding would be an act of complicity with us, if it weren't always followed by a hateful denial, because it's followed by articles and headlines. I repeat. Their managers pillory us, exploit our love and our loyalty, they harm us, they expose us to doxing and death threats. At this point, I would respect them more if they would protect us by stopping coding. The Larries have the right to find peace, while continuing to think well of them.

Thank you for letting me know that you're sending this to other blogs as well. That makes me feel less guilty for not prioritising it when my inbox is full.

I'm not sure i agree with your premise that there's an increase in denials and their frequency. I also think that depends on the other closeting measures they enforce, and how effective they are. They've targeted and used larries as scapegoats since 2012.

When it comes to coding, i think the fact that they're still doing it means that it's a forced closet and not a chosen one. They don't need to signal, they know they're together, it's for us to show us that that there is a different person behind the facade.

There's upsides and dowsides to coding/larriebaiting. Doing it is showing us that larry is still real (for those who need constant reassurance *eyeroll*), that there is a difference between who they are and who they portray themselves to be and that they're fighting their closet and image. It's validating and it creates a lot of engagement among us larries.

On the downside, it does make the bait and switch, and gaslighting feel worse because of the whiplash, and it does make us targets when they have to deny or make up for the coding/larrybaiting.

I'm not sure that stopping coding would lead to less death threats, doxxing and a better fandom environment. Because antis and solos would be validated, police fandom even more and try do drive away larries. There wouldn't be a reason to stay in fandom anymore at all if they stopped catering to us. It would just be all hate with no reward or incentives to stay. Louis at least can't afford that. He's also the one coding/larrybaiting the most.

I think a better solution than to stop coding would be to not do stunts and coding at the same time. That's worsening the whiplash and the feel of emotional manipulation and gaslighting. Don't go to a gay club and snog a woman the next day. Don't diss solos one day and yell at larries the next. Be het when you need to act it, and be gay as hell when the stunt is over. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than the emotional rollercoasters we have now.

I would have said no thanks to the larry reel ig like if i knew it meant that H would have to snog a woman. I would have said don't bother to the dissing of the solos who wants him to change his setlist if i knew it meant a twitter rant where larries would be targeted.
