Any Larrie foolish enough to share their real name is doxxing themselves. What did they expect to happen? Online, never ever ever give away your surname, address or place of work. Or even your first name if it's unusual. Not even in dms or group chats.

Are you seriously victim-blaming here? You don’t think anyone should be able to have social media accounts with their full name on it and NOT be doxxed by people who don't share their opinions? Do we not live in a democracy and a rule based society?

I do agree that everyone of course should take precautions on the internet, and having your personal information out there will make you more vulnerable to impersonation, misuse and doxxing, but still, calling out victims like this isn't it. Spend your time calling out harries and solo louies who are the ones doing this instead. Let's not pretend this is a situation where both parties are equally bad. This is harries, solo louis and antis going after larries. It's been over a decade of this.

Also, it's not like any larrie is giving away their surname, address or place of work to people they don't trust. The doxxing in this fandom is either due to break of trust, stalking or hacking. Some of these larries goes to school, work or are from the same town/city as antis, and that makes larries personal data available to antis.

You can lock down everything and take as much precautions as you can, if harries or solo louies really wants to target you and weaponise your personal information, they'll find a way.

So please, do NOT laugh at people who trust others to respect and protect their privacy. That's common decency. Call out those who make this world a scarier, and more mistrustful place because they can't handle that some people believe Harry and Louis are in a relationship.

So I should preface this by saying that my aunt, who I have not gotten along with for decades now, lost her youngest son about a month ago. I feel for her and I know that she's doing her best, which is why I'm posting on Tumblr instead of arguing with her about any of this. But the entire Nordic and Celtic pantheons in an inscrutable game of Strip Scrabble, she is NOT being her best self right now.

My cousin leaves behind a fifteen-year-old son who is mostly nonspeaking but a dedicated gamer, whose mum has not been involved with my cousin for roughly fourteen years, but who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. We'll call this young woman B.

My aunt is into a bunch of New Age... stuff. She was a grief counsellor for years, but onto that she piggybacked a bunch of stuff like Therapeutic Touch and Reiki and hypnosis and "energy healing" and stuff that is not evidence-based, but like, if it makes her feel like she has control over her life, then fine I guess. If it helps the people who ask her for it feel like they are actively participating in what their bodies are doing anyway, fine I guess. I've been quite vocal about not subscribing to those beliefs, and she's left me alone about it, but she seems to think that this stuff gives people absolute control over their health, and if they're not healthy it's because they're doing it wrong. She's not shy about telling them so, either.

She spent my cousin's entire childhood trying to wean him off Ritalin. She didn't want him on those meds. Yelled at him when he wouldn't take his homeopathic remedies.

Things she said in the phone call with my mom tonight, when she was on speaker phone and did not know I was listening, so I had to jam my fingernails into my lips to keep from roaring:

"She keeps rescheduling the healing I offered her. It's like she doesn't even want to get better."

"I think I'm going to just ask her why she has cancer. And see if I can help her realize something about herself that way." Guessing it has something to do with transcription errors causing cells to multiply out of control. That's why most people have cancer. Unless you've unlocked some kind of special punishment cancer that you think people actually deserve.

"I'll ask her what she's going about it, and she'll say the chemo and radiation and mastectomy, obviously, but then I'll say, 'No, B., that's what the doctors are doing. What are YOU doing?' And then maybe she'll realize." She is going to be surviving chemo and radiation and a mastectomy and that sounds like PLENTY.

"I realize this is a really horrible thing to say, probably the worst thing you can say about someone really, but I think she might be neurodiverse."

And yes it is genocide: even the humans who pledge allegiance to him are forced to kill the weakest members, mostly women and children (the survivors are all men apparently) and then they’re sent to die as cannon fodders. Instead, I heard multiple stories about how self-professed liberal uncles, often beta-men, could inflict chronic damage on a woman’s career and confidence. Navigating and complaining about a clear and clumsy display of bias is far more straightforward—although onerous—than its subtle and sophisticated form.
