OUTER SPACE, ATLANTA
by Greg Mike
In 2015 Greg Mike, founder and creative director of @ABVgallery and creative agency in Atlanta, leveraged years of relationships built with artists near and far and launched the OuterSpace Project. An accomplished muralist himself, Mike was inspired by the line work of iconic American mid-century cartoons and created his own iconic snaggle-toothed character, Larry Loudmouf, who routinely makes appearances on walls and in studio work displayed across the U.S. and internationally. Taking some time out of curating other artists’ work for OuterSpace Mike painted this wall in 2017, looking out across Interstate 75 at the campus of Georgia Tech. @gregmike @outerspaceproject

“LARRY LOUDMOUF AND FRIENDS”
by Greg Mike
Raised in nearby Connecticut, Greg Mike credits childhood trips to NYC with awakening the “creative potential of reinventing public spaces through art and design.” By his early teens Mike was already using walls closer to home to fuse that awareness and his obsession with iconic American mid-century cartoons. Over time his work has been influenced by skate culture and the fashion world, and become known for “vivid explosions of incandescent color filtered through a Surrealist Pop Art perspective.” Like something out of a dentist’s nightmare, his world is populated by a band of broken-toothed “gleefully twisted characters” led by Larry Loudmouf—painted across the U.S. including at Facebook’s headquarters. Mike painted this wall in 2015 for the Shine Festival on the side of a St. Petersburg, Florida, law firm on 1st Ave. N (I’ll let you draw your own connections—if you dare). @gregmike @shineonstpete @ilovetheburg
Reposted from @gregmike (Update: Sold Out) Just released the official @chicagobulls collaboration print created for the “Art of the Game” Exhibition curated by @allstarpress. Growing up the Bulls were my favorite team so it's truly an honor to collaborate on a official release inspired by all the memories from my childhood. Jordan pushed the boundaries and changed the game. Had a blast referencing a bunch of iconic imagery to create something new... “Hang Time” 24" x 36" Edition of 35 3 Color Screen Print on 160 lb.
