one of my favorite scenes in aotc ^^ owen and anakin are both timid and awkward but owen displays a warmth we don't usually see from him and anakin is so overwhelmed by what is happening to shmi and the fact that he is failing his jedi teaching by going to rescue her that he simply cannot compute that he now has a stepbrother. anyway. the tatooine plotline of AOTC from owen and beru's POV would be so jarring and disturbing it's no wonder they didn't really know how to talk about anakin
