What if Lamater didn’t die? How do you think that would affect the story?

Well if we excluded him being sick.. so that he wouldn't die until the VERY end, I have a feeling he'd actually run away and they'd reunite in later books? Considering that Roden and Tobias are two parts that represent Jaron (Physical strength and his intelligence), I feel like Latamer would represent him being a coward and his fears. Because that is another part of Jaron that is typically overlooked, which is his internal struggles and fears. So in all honesty, I think it'd change the way his plans go (revealing he's the actual prince in TFP) and would add an extra hand in the war. Because imagine that Jaron and Latamer cross paths again, they reconcile? Latamer betrays him? Latamer believes in Conner/Veldegraths side? There is so much Latamer could've done, justice for my boy!!! Thanks for the ask!!!!
