Snakes are not our most common subject, but we are still called to several grass snake and adder (two of the the three species in the UK) rescues each year. However, this snake is rarer still!
Earlier this week, Simon got a late-night call to rescue a snake from a house in Redhill, Surrey. The homeowner had seen it sporadically over two days and was getting slightly worried!
When Simon arrived on site, he quickly found the dangerous intruder to be a baby corn snake! Luckily, it was easy to catch and was soon heading back to the centre. After checking with local residents (none of whom had lost a snake), it was taken away by one of our volunteers for a new life and home!
