Jekyll is the sort of person who forgets to eat for hours, if not days.  And when he realizes exactly how hungry he is, he will just fill up on whatever is nearby and remotely edible.  It’s not uncommon for him to just empty out a good portion of whatever food he’s got in stock.

Meanwhile, if Hyde gets control before Jekyll can eat something, he won’t consider if it’s something that should be put in a human body.  If it is within grabbing range, he’ll see if he can eat it.  Pens, coins, sometimes even whatever non-toxic chemicals Jekyll left out.
