Recovering from a cold this weekend but received some good news. It looks like I will be able to attend a History Conference in February. It's a Latin Forum focusing on the Classics at Reed College in Portland, Oregon on February 22nd. I am very grateful to my former Latin teacher for inviting me. So excited to hear what the lectures will be about!
maybe it’s because it’s rainy out today, maybe it’s because I miss home a little bit, maybe it’s because I don’t think about it enough. but I didn’t go to regional forum and it’s the first forum I’ve missed in three years. and I stumbled across all the sappy goodbye posts everyone made after nationals and it hit me like a ton of bricks, that things aren’t the same and they never will be. it’s dark and the rain is trickling outside and I’m reminded of sitting on the bus, soaking wet, with a sore throat and joy I had never before experienced. I felt freedom that week. a piece of heaven reserved in my memory’s museum from here on out.
