korea fell first, hes super good at being a glim glam beautiful idol boy so he initiates everything in the beginning (and later on frankly, after latvia gets comfortable enough to start things on his own, it just takes a while)

korea’s main form of affection is giving/sharing food (this is something i imagine he gets from china), their first real interaction beyond pleasantries and introductions was korea going up to latvia and saying smth like “hey, wanna share these meat buns with me? ✨”, said meat buns are like his lil packed lunch from china lmao. also the way he shares is by giving latvia so much the ratio is practically 2:1. he does this so much latvia starts to visibly look a lot healthier since before that he was pretty malnourished and scrawny

after a while of korea making moves and “accidentally” touching hands/whathaveyou and taking latvia out on lil hangouts latvia’s finally like Wait a Minute does he like. LIKE like me? ? ? ¿ . so latvia falls too but hes WAY worse at subtlety and has difficulty really believing that someone likes him this way, let alone someone as sparkly as korea. so korea can pretty easily tell when he starts to reciprocate

whenever they go on dates together korea likes doing a bunch of dramatic and big gestures youd see out of a movie (“look raivis i made a 10 meter sculpture in your likeness!” “WHAT”) and latvia’s like “this is So nice of you but why are you doing this all for me?? i dont need all this” n korea’s like “because its YOUUUU daze”. latvia beats up on himself quite often and korea kind of anchors him to reality and reminds him that hes worth something

they bond over korean media like kdramas n pop music n such since latvians also really like pop apparently. i imagine they have movie nights pretty often and go binging their favorite shows and reach for their snacks at the same time and

re: that previous point, korea’s a big cuddler and latvia enjoys this greatly. cold touch starved boy korea is his personal heater

they own many mementos of their relationship thru photos and various knick knacks. one of them is a picture from christmas that i may or may not draw and others are things like corny pieces of jewelery and those stuffed bears that come in pairs joined by a heart sold to couples. also carnival prizes cuz korea will NAWT leave the crane games alone (he wants to impress latvia soooo bad)

one time latvia got korea a shitload of stuff to pay him back for all the insane things he did for him

later into their relationship korea takes latvia to meet the rest of his family (china, hong kong, taiwan, vietnam, thailand, etc). latvia brings some gifts, probably chocolates, and hes SUPER nervous about making a good impression. and then because hes super academically smart but really humble about it china takes a liking to him because asian parents tend to be that way harhar speaking from experience (later when china and korea are alone hes like “you picked well yong soo” lmaoooo). on this china does that “did my spouse just become my parent’s new favorite child” thing

latvia’s very used to the cold, and the pressure he feels under russia’s rule, plus hes ALSO super lonely! so whenever latvia is first invited over for the evening and it comes to dinnertime everyone crowds around him like “do you use forks and spoons or chopsticks?” “do you want a bowl of rice or noodles?” “which sauce would you like?” and latvia’s just bluescreening from being overwhelmed with all the attention and unusual amount of hospitality. the wang household p much becomes latvia’s home lol he comes by a lot cuz he feels so comfortable and loved there. he also stays the night sometimes latvia would rather spend his night sleeping in a cramped room on the ground surrounded by 5 diff people than sleep on his lonesome in the quiet cold

korea proposed to him once disney prince style. they did not actually get married but it was funny;

because latvia is so much worse at subtlety than korea is he wont pick up on quite a few of his flirts. korea finds this cute

latvia canNottttttttt take words of affirmation without hiding his face or turning away in some way (positive)

korea complains that he cant wear any of latvia’s clothes because latvia’s too short and hes too tall. he’ll still throw his own clothes at latvia tho bc he thinks the sleeves and pant legs extending past his hands is cuuuute

before meeting korea’s family latvia did extensive research on the cultures of his family members to make sure he didnt accidentally offend them like he would with russia. on this korea likes to just listen to him blab
