The series LAUERHOLZ was shot during the COVID-19-lockdown in June 2020. Lauerholz is the name of a forest in Lübeck in the north of Germany, that is mostly left to its own with only minimal intervention by humans. Therefore, it is able and allowed to reflect the circle of genesis and transience in all its particulars - and in all its beauty. Walking through Lauerholz makes me feel small. It changes the perception of time and puts our human existence and sorrows into perspective.
The photos were shot with a Hasselblad 500C/M analog medium format camera on Ilford HP5+ film. The film was developed in Rodinal at home by myself and afterwards scanned with a Canon Canoscan 9000f.
